As a trend director I work alongside the VP of Design and Merchandising to direct our design teams. We create monthly collections and I lead a team of designers (both graphic and fashion). We begin with pulling inspiration tears, move into CAD/hand sketches which we then review with internal design teams at specialty stores and big box retailers. From there we source fabrication, design prints and graphics in house and merchandise our collection in order for retailers to purchase our styles. I act as the principal photographer and art director on every shoot we do (about 3 a month, covering over 100 looks per shoot) I then use the imagery to

I have been working in the fashion industry for 10+ years and am currently working as a fashion trend director for a manufacturing company. I research and analyze current and past market trends, runway shows, global street style and trending themes on social media to predict what overall themes will be successful in retail stores the following year. I am a seasoned fashion forecaster and have expert knowledge identifying trends of all kinds- whether that be fashion, graphic design or social media trends. I create many detailed visual reports that exhibit not only my expertise in forecasting but also my background in presentation design. I then present these reports to design directors of big box retailers such as Target, Nordstrom, etc. This helps direct their internal design teams in order to book on trend silhouettes for their upcoming collections.
